machine0 is pay-as-you-go. You top up your wallet and resources draw down the balance hourly. No commitments, no subscriptions.

What gets billed

Machines are billed per hour while they exist — including when stopped, because they reserve cloud resources. Destroy a VM to stop billing. Images (snapshots) are billed at 0.078/GB/monthbasedondisksize.Minimum0.078/GB/month based on disk size. Minimum 0.01 per image per billing period. Bandwidth has a free monthly allowance per machine (1–10 TB depending on size). Overage is billed at $0.01/GiB.

Wallet

Your wallet holds a USD balance. All charges are deducted from it automatically. Check your balance:

Topping up

Add funds to your wallet:
machine0 topup --amount 10
This opens a Stripe checkout in your browser. Minimum top-up is $5.

Balance requirements

  • Creating resources requires enough balance for at least 10 hours of usage at the current running cost plus the new resource.
  • If your balance drops below 1 hour of runway, your resources are automatically torn down (see below).

Auto-topup

Enable auto-topup to avoid accidental teardowns. When your runway drops below 48 hours, your saved payment method is charged automatically ($25 by default). Configure auto-topup in the web dashboard.

Resource suspension

When your wallet can’t cover 1 hour of runtime:
  1. Running machines are stopped
  2. Each machine is snapshotted (so you don’t lose data)
  3. Machines are destroyed
The snapshots are retained so you can recover by topping up and creating new VMs from them. Top up and re-create from the snapshot to pick up where you left off.
Enable auto-topup to prevent suspension. Outstanding credits are refundable if you decide machine0 isn’t for you.
